Robotic Rehabilitation from India - challenges and opportunities- a first-hand view

Access to healthcare in LMIC is a huge problem. Disabled patients are even worse off. For
businesses to help such patients, hurdles include access to robust market data, raising
capital, navigating policy and regulation. Product development is expensive. Solutions need
to work in local conditions. Innovations in healthcare from India have been rare. Bionic Yantra
is on an unusual ambitious journey. Where no market was perceived to exist, we built a
pathbreaking rehab robot to help paralyzed patients to walk. We share our experience so far.
