Neurology Academy: delivering uniquely practical education to produce specialist clinical leaders and transform local healthcare.
Neurology Academy is a pioneer of unique education ‘by clinicians, for clinicians’, seeking to transform healthcare through the training and mentorship of neurology specialists across the UK.
Through a unique, tried-and-tested learning format based on cutting-edge information, interaction and mentorship, the Academy has supported thousands of clinicians over the past sixteen years. Educational offerings are varied and tailored to individual needs. From in-depth residential MasterClasses for conditions like Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis (MS), and dementia, to one-day intensive learning into specific areas of practice like palliative care, or Parkinson’s non-motor symptoms, Neurology Academy pride themselves in sharing the latest in research, policy and service delivery with their clinical colleagues.
The Parkinson’s MasterClass, the original and longest running course, has supported over 1,500 healthcare professionals to develop Parkinson’s specialisms in its 16 years, and the range of courses are routinely booked up over a year in advance. The Foundation level course has doubled its capacity, increasing to give much needed spaces to the junior registrars who now need to include Parkinson’s training in their rotation.
The MS Academy, established in 2016 has now offered 9 MasterClasses and is supporting a clinically-led national programme to tackle unwanted variance in MS services.
Firmly believing in the power of clinical leadership to transform the care of tomorrow, Neurology Academy have now launched a brand new Leadership MasterClass specialising in ‘change leadership’ to further equip clinicians to confidently lead service transformation locally.
With an increasing peer network offering support and encouragement to newer specialists, and a raft of resources available online, Neurology Academy is committed to supporting, upskilling and encouraging healthcare professionals to transform the experiences of those living with a neurological condition.
