Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research: Supporting research for life after paralysis
22 Mar 2023
Neuro Keynote Stage
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) results in partial or complete loss of sensation and motor function below the level of injury. However, there are many long term complex and debilitating issues that are ''unseen'' such as impaired bladder and bowel function, urinary tract infection, pain, and pressure ulcers - all of which may profoundly affect a person's quality of life.
This seminar gives a personal insight into living with spinal cord injury (from SMSR ambassador Ralph Charlwood) and highlights how SMSR is supporting research to tackle these chronic issues (by SMSR Trustee Nigel Henderson).
