CANCELLED SESSION Is it “all in the mind?”- A look at Neuropsychiatric complications of Long Covid.
Neuropsychiatric sequelae of Covid 19 infections are complex with cognitive, mood symptoms, fatigue and sleep disorders. There is also growing evidence that COVID-19 and new psychotic episodes are connected. The neuropsychiatric symptoms account for the second most common presentation of long Covid and impact on quality of life and return to work. The seminar will review current understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders including personality change, cognitive disorders, affective and anxiety disorders and psychosis that can occur post Covid 19 infection.
• Identify the major risk factors for neuropsychiatric disturbances after Covid 19 infection
• Attendees should be able to describe of the various neuropsychiatric disorders associated with Covid 19
• Attendees should understand the possible aetiology behind some of the neuropsychiatric complications of Long Covid
