Management of mental health comorbidity in Epilepsy
Quality of life is intrinsically related to seizure freedom. However, approximately 30% of patients with epilepsy (PWE) are drug resistant.
In this population, the main determinants of quality of life are neuropsychiatric comorbidity and AED toxicity. Neuropsychiatric comorbidity is often atypical and bidirectional.
This seminar will highlight the assessment and management of neuropsychiatric comorbidity in epilepsy which plays an essential part in optimising the quality of life in PWE.
