DM Orthotics Masterclass
Dynamic Elastomeric Fabric Orthoses in the management of Neurological Conditions
This introductory presentation provides a basic understanding of the principles of using Dynamic Movement Orthoses. It gives an overview of: assessment, prescription and patient selection.
The use of DEFOs in the management of neurological scoliosis
Unlike traditional rigid splinting, our scoliosis suit improves balance and stability whilst allowing movement in the neurologically impaired child.
DMOs use strategically placed panelling which correctly aligns the body. This new positioning stimulates sensory systems throughout the body and re-programmes the brain, ensuring that muscles operate in their new state of optimal alignment. Our masterclasses will provide an introduction to our range of products highlighting patient groups who would benefit and demonstrate video evidence of the orthoses in practice. These classes will be hosted by Pam Cowans Export Team Manager and Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Patricia McCotter UK Clinical Manager and Clinical Specialist Orthotist, who together have had more than 59 years’ experience in the treatment of neurological conditions. Please attend to learn how DEFOs could be used in your clinical practice to improve outcome measures for your neurological clients.
